CATV

The CATV system requirements and outlet locations will be determined for the whole facility. Any special requirements to handle the unique nature of the services being provided will be considered and integrated into the specifications. This will include the design and alternates available for the development of the CATV head-end system. The coax specifications and pathways will be integrated into the structured cabling design. Installation will be coordinated with the system operator to assure compliance to specifications and Centura standards. The prospect of utilizing unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cabling for the CATV will be considered. Analysis and recommendations will be provided. Once the design has been updated and finalized, Technology Plus will develop an RFP for any head end equipment and coordinate the installation by the cabling company and appropriate contractor. The CATV cabling will also be installed by the low-voltage contractor to minimized the number of contractors and realize the efficiencies of one cabling contractor. Unless specified otherwise, the General Contractor or Equipment Planner will be responsible for specification of the TV mounts, acquisition of the TV’s and any associated equipment.
